About
A skunkworks for applied AI.
Our charter is narrow and our ambition isn't: prove out, in working software, how AI can build enterprise systems and the agents that make people meaningfully more productive.
SplittingAtom Labs is a skunkworks. The work is simple to state and hard to do: show, in real software, how applied AI can build enterprise-grade systems and the agents that make people dramatically more productive.
We start from a conviction that the gap in AI today isn't capability — it's application. Models can already reason, write, and act. What's missing is the connective work of turning that raw capability into software people can trust and rely on inside an actual business. That translation, from impressive demo to dependable tool, is the entire job — and it's where we spend our time.
So we build, the way a skunkworks is meant to: small team, short loops, real prototypes over roadmaps. Each thing we ship is an argument — evidence for how AI can take on enterprise workflows, where agents genuinely raise human output, and what software looks like when it's designed for autonomy from the first line.
Applied AI is the throughline. Not research for its own sake, not AI bolted onto something old — but artificial intelligence put to work on problems that matter, measured by whether the people using it actually get more done. This is the beginning. We'd rather show you than tell you.
Principles
Context over cleverness
The most useful agents aren't the ones with the cleverest prompts — they're the ones with the best context. We build for memory and grounding first.
Humans in command
Autonomy is a tool, not an abdication. Our products keep people steering — defining the work, reviewing the output, and setting the bar.
Private by default
Your data is yours. We design for privacy and control from the first line, not as a setting you have to go find.
Useful, not impressive
We'd rather ship something you reach for every day than something that demos well once. Applied means it works in the real world.
