WanderSnap turns the photos you take on a trip into a living map you can pan, zoom, and relive. This page covers getting started, keeping your trips in sync across your devices, and the questions we hear most. If you don't find what you need, email us — a real person reads every message.
Getting started
WanderSnap is built around trips — collections of photos grouped by the places you actually went, not by timestamp.
- Install the app on your Mac. WanderSnap reads the location data already stored in your photos; nothing is uploaded to a server.
- Scan your photo library. WanderSnap groups your shots by city and date range and proposes trips automatically.
- Curate. Confirm the trips WanderSnap suggests, merge or split them, hide home cities that aren't travel, and give each trip a name.
- Relive. Open any trip to see every photo pinned to exactly where it was taken — on a 2D map, in a 3D fly-through, or as a photo stream in order.
Syncing your trips across devices
The Mac is where you build and curate your trips. Once a trip is organized on macOS, it's available to view on your other Apple devices — your iPhone and iPad — so the journeys you've shaped are with you wherever you are.
- Sign in with the same account on each device.
- Trips you create or edit on the Mac appear on iPhone and iPad automatically.
- The iOS app is read-only for now: curation happens on the Mac, viewing happens everywhere.

WanderSnap is heading to the Apple App Store for macOS first; the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Vision Pro versions follow.
Troubleshooting
A trip isn't appearing on my iPhone or iPad. Make sure you're signed in with the same account on both devices and that the trip has been saved on the Mac. Give it a moment to sync, then pull to refresh.
Some photos are missing from a trip. WanderSnap groups photos by their embedded location and date. Photos without location data won't be placed on the map automatically — you can add them to a trip manually on the Mac.
A photo is pinned to the wrong place. The pin reflects the location stored in the photo itself. Correct the photo's location in your photo library and re-scan, and WanderSnap will follow.
The app is asking for photo library access. WanderSnap needs permission to read your library so it can find where each photo was taken. It reads this on your device only — your photos are never uploaded.
Privacy
WanderSnap reads your photos and their location data on your device. Your library and the trips you build from it stay yours.
